My first contact with coffee wasn’t in a shop; it was in the mountains of Amagá, Antioquia. I grew up on my grandparents’ farm, playing among coffee trees and banana plants with a small machete my grandfather gave me. Without knowing it, those years in the mountains shaped my life.

Where it all began
The Disconnect
When I moved to Florida, I realized something was missing. After being part of Medellín’s vibrant specialty coffee scene, I found myself surrounded by huge chains, supermarket shelves with mystery blends, and artificial flavors like vanilla that hide the real bean. Everything was about speed, and the ritual was lost to capsule machines and a pretty “maluquito” (unpleasant) taste.
The Mission
Monte Maestro was born to bridge that gap. I wanted to bring the authentic Colombian coffee ritual to my new home, but doing it the right way. We support our industry by sourcing directly from farmers and working with exporters who ensure they are paid above-market prices.
We pay +20% above fair market rate
